There’s been a lot less b!tching about this latest Kinja update than there usually is...

Shhh, don’t jinx it.
/I’m guessing many people haven’t even seen it yet and thus haven’t been given more reason than usual to complain. I know I haven’t.

Because none of us can click our fucking notifications, so we spend time trying to get those back instead of writing posts.

There’s a new update? So far doesn’t seem any worse than the old version (that would be pretty hard though, Kinja sucks).

wait. There was an update?

Have you not noticed the giant black navigation bar at the top of your screen?

If you’ve been here long enough, you’ll realize that this is bad (they always are) but also that this is less bad than many of the other “improvements” we’ve seen over the past several years.
Gawker loves to spend money on their platform - and not once have they made it better. I’ll never understand it.

Oh I know. I’ve been here since pre- /tiger=off days.

Tiger off? Blast from the past.
We’ve endured worse...

That’s because most of us that would be bitching can no longer use it at all on our mobile devices. Bitching has been moved to the Faceboo

For me mobile is still the old version. I only see the update on desktop.

For me, mobile has become increasingly harder and harder to deal with. It’s to the point that I can look, but not do anything else. Unless I want to type like a goddamn sloth to stay away from the buffer overflow

What are you on, a Palm Treo?

Lumia 950 running Windows 10. The buffer problem is kinja, not the phone

What browser are you using? I’m using Chrome on Android 5.1.1 and all Kinja sites are perfectly responsive for me. My phone is a two year old middle-of-the-range model too.

I mostly use mobile and I haven’t seen the update on mobile yet. Though I am a little scared to delete my cache and see everything change.

Edge. Chrome is not available because Google is a hateful company.

Is Firefox available? If so try that. You should also go find Ernie and let him know about your troubles.

To be honest, I don’t know and I kinda don’t care to find out. Kinja dev has made it clear they refuse to support Windows phones. After years of alpha/beta testing for them, to see this lack of support and lackadaisical attitude to the platform, I’m done. I’m gonna stop bending over backwards to try and find ways to make their shit work.

It’s not just Kinja, there’s a lack of support for Windows phones across the board. Nobody cares to develop for them.

Thanks for twisting the knife

I’m not the one who decided to go with a me-too phone OS
That’s exactly what it is too. Msoft saw how much action Apple was gettibg with iOs and was all like “i want a piece of that"

I’ve been on Windows Mobile since Pocket PC 2002. To call a system that came out six years before the iPhone a “me too” is a falsity.
I’ve had Androids from the original G1 to my current tab running whatever the latest is. I’ve had iPhones 3, 3GS, 4, 4s and 5. I prefer the stability, cleanliness and overall feel of Windows. Plus, as someone who is 24/7/365 escalation for major incidents impacting patient treatment, I have to have a phone that allows me to get company email - Android is out. Between iOS and Windows, Windows does more for me and fulfills my needs better than Apple’s offering. Kinja and Pokemon aren’t needs. Office suite, VPN, company email and .NET are.
Don’t come at me with this me-too bullshit.
